- Go to https://uidai.gov.in.
Navigate to ‘Check Aadhaar Status’
- Under the My Aadhaar section, click on ‘Check Aadhaar Status’.
Enter Required Details
- Provide your Enrollment ID (EID), which can be found on the acknowledgment slip provided during Aadhaar enrollment.
- Enter the captcha code and click Submit.
View Status
- If your Aadhaar has been generated, you will see a confirmation message. If it hasn’t, the portal will display the current processing status.
Step 2: Download e-Aadhaar
If your Aadhaar has been generated, you can proceed to download the e-Aadhaar card:

Password-Protected PDF
- After successfully verifying the OTP, download the e-Aadhaar PDF file.
- The PDF is password-protected. The password is the first four letters of your name in UPPERCASE followed by your year of birth.
Important Notes:
- Ensure your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar to receive the OTP.
- If your Aadhaar hasn’t been generated yet, you may need to wait for the process to complete or contact the Aadhaar center for assistance.
- The e-Aadhaar is a valid and legally accepted digital copy of your Aadhaar.

Whether you’re applying for a new passport, making corrections, or checking your application status, the online process is simple and efficient. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Register on the Passport Seva Portal
- Visit the official Passport Seva website: https://www.passportindia.gov.in.
- Click on ‘New User? Register Now’.
- Fill in your personal details, such as name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number, and create a password.
- Submit the registration form and verify your account using the activation link sent to your email.
Step 2: Login and Fill the Application Form
- Log in using your registered email ID and password.
- Select the required service:
- Fresh Passport Application for new applicants.
- Reissue for renewal or corrections in an existing passport.
- Download and fill out the e-Form (PDF) or use the online form to submit your details.
- Provide accurate information regarding:
- Personal details (Name, Date of Birth, etc.)
- Address (Current and Permanent)
- Employment details
- Family information (Parent/Spouse details)
Step 3: Upload Documents
- Upload scanned copies of required documents based on the service type:
- Proof of Identity: Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, etc.
- Proof of Address: Utility Bill, Bank Passbook, Ration Card, etc.
- Proof of Date of Birth: Birth Certificate, Matriculation Certificate, etc.
- Other Documents: Marriage Certificate (if applicable), Annexures (if required).
Step 4: Schedule an Appointment
- Pay the applicable passport fee online using Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
- For a regular passport, fees typically range from ₹1,500–₹2,000 (subject to service type).
- After successful payment, schedule an appointment at the nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).
- Download and print your appointment confirmation slip.
Step 5: Visit the Passport Seva Kendra
- Carry all original documents and the appointment confirmation slip to the PSK/POPSK.
- At the center:
- Verification of documents will be done.
- Biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) will be captured.
- The application will be processed.
Step 6: Track Application Status
- To check the status of your application, go to https://www.passportindia.gov.in.
- Click on ‘Track Application Status’ under the ‘Applicant Home’ section.
- Enter your Application Reference Number (ARN) and date of birth to view the current status of your passport.

- Log in to the Passport Seva Portal and select ‘Reissue’.
